Around March 15, i got a phone call from a HC ambassador asking if i had any questions about HC. I’ve looked through a few posts on this site about what it could mean, and there was a mix of “idk,” “you got in!”, and “the phone call means nothing.”
I emailed the ambassador (since i wasnt there to pick it up) and he referred to me as a prospective student, and after writing a few huugee paragraphs answering my questions, he ended it saying “i hope this helped you with you decision making process”
i was so shook like
what decision is there for me to make?? im waiting on cornell to make their decision UNLESS
theyre referring to my decision on where to commit?? which would imply??
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Due to all the iffiness of all the other years’ posts, im making this thread so that i can come back and post here tomorrow and either prove that the phone call is indicative with an acceptance or prove that it isnt with a rejection or waitlist.
also if you also got the phone call, update here too please thanks
I would say the phone call was not indicative. I was waitlisted and actually was contacted by an alum for an in-person meeting and my friend was rejected even though she received a phone call.
i got the call and was accepted. @youknowhowitis3 was yours for an interview/did it happen earlier this year? i thought that the human ecology call only comes from current students at cornell
no, it wasn’t an interview, it was more like an “informational session”. Here’s the email I got:
I’m a Cornell Alumni Ambassador and I’ve been asked to offer a time to meet with you to talk about Cornell! I had a wonderful experience as an undergrad and would love to talk about your interests and any questions you may have. This is not an “interview” per se, as it is not an evaluation of you - only a chance for you to learn more about the University, the City of Ithaca, and how your interests align… etc. about where we would meet up. @pedagogy
@youknowhowitis3 ohh ok yeah that’s what i meant by “interview” haha my bad. but yeah i also did the informational session with an alumni ambassador not that long after i submitted my application but then also got the specific hum ec call from a current student earlier this month.
