Last week I sent my non-custodial waiver form last week after being emailed that I was missing my non-custodial parent information. At the time I did not know that I needed to send waiver to accommodate for my family situation, so my mother called the Financial aid office and they told her to complete and send them the waiver form. However, nearly a week has passed since I sent out the form and when I log in online to check my financial aid to do list, I still see they want my non-custodial forms. Does this mean that they did not waive my non-custodial information? I am really freaking out right now. To not go to deep into my family situation, my I never knew my father since he abandoned my mother when I was an infant. Does this mean that I will not get any financial aid? I did everything that the waiver form asked for (the third party letters, etc.). Help would be really appreciated!

Give it a couple of days more. It takes a while for the office to actually receive the papers and type in the computer that they’re received. I’m in the same situation, so don’t worry, you’ll receive aid. They just want to find all sources of support and since your father isn’t one, that counts for more aid probably, Idk. If you’re really worried, just give them a call to see if they received it. Oh, it also depends how you sent it, whether online or by mail. But yeah, just call if anything. You’ll receive aid for sure.

Thanks for the help. Also, they received it last week since I tracked my sent mail to them.

We’re in a similar situation. We uploaded a document onMarch 7th and received a confirmation email, but it still shows on the “to do” list.

This is from the confirmation e-mail we received:
Thank you for submitting your financial aid application materials
electronically. Cornell’s Processing Center has received them.

In order to facilitate efficient processing, please do not mail or fax
documents that you have submitted online. Please allow 2 weeks for our staff
to update these documents to the student’s checklist.

So give it a couple weeks.
