Cornell or UNC Chapel Hill???

Hi all! I’m currently in the fortunate position that allows me to decide between these two schools. I’ve been accepted to both schools for fall 2016 as a transfer student (Cornell gt and UNC as a regular applicant) and am having a hard time deciding between the two. If you have the time I would like to gather your opinions, although maybe slightly biased, on the two schools and their respective pros and cons. Thank you so much!

Congratulations. Both are outstanding institutions and you have a good problem to have.

You left a lot out of your questions. Is financial aid and issue or is money no object? Do you live in NC and therefore get in-state tuition? What is your intended major? Do you like snow?

Your lack of details makes it impossible to advise you.

Having said all that. UNC is ranked the #2 public university in the US. And Cornell is, well, an Ivy. So each have bragging rights and prestige. UNC is half the cost of Cornell even out of state.

Both have strengths and weaknesses.

@eespos1 Without any details, your decision may ultimately come down to your preferences of location/campus vibe. UNC is a southern school and Cornell obviously a northern one. At Cornell, the student body is largely made up of students from the tri-state area. At UNC, most students will be from Carolina or other southern states.
