here's another serious comment:
you know, a lot of time, it will shock you how much the kids who "party all the time" study. they're often the ones who don't let anyone know that they study and they're usually the ones locked in their room/libraries at like 1 or 2 in the morning studying their as$es off (and not JUST right before a final).

but hey - there are 3,000+ kids per year and if you can't find at least 1-5 other likeminded people to spend your time with, then you probably should brush up on those social skills of yours.

StevenWheatland, did you grow up in a house without sarcasm? I'm honestly shocked at your complete and utter gullibility. Not to be a complete jerk, but do you honestly believe everything you read? Those who are telling you ridiculous things about Cornell are being entirely facetious, and if you're honestly not picking up on that, I'm not sure how you're going to survive in whatever social interaction you might run into in the coming years.

Cornell is a party school, just like every other school. No matter where the college, many (if not most) students will find routes to alcohol, whether it's at a fraternity party (most common for Cornell freshmen), in someone's dorm room, or in an off-campus house. College students like to drink, and that's going to be true wherever you decide to go. That said, if you can find some good friends to hang out with, there are always alternatives to drinking.

lol. Isn't there some "internet law" that says if someone uses sarcasm on the internet, it will ultimately lead to someone else thinking he was being serious?

And I'm pretty sure Steven was also being sarcastic.

The number of uptight people who are posting is hilarious. All schools will have partying. If you don't want to party, don't. You don't have to find a school with minimal parties. This thread is a joke to be honest.

This is one of the funniest threads I've ever seen. I think you all might have permanently altered Steven's life course. Either that, or he just owned all of you.

Either way, I'll play it safe and assume he's somehow serious - I never saw one hardcore drug at Cornell. Relax. They're f-ing with you.

This whole post reminds me of Andy Bernard, from The Office! He always goes on about how he went to Cornell, and was drunk the whole time he was there!! None the less, this is an ivy, even though it is dubbed the "easiest to get int to". People who applied had to be somewhat smart to get accepted!

There are a few easy majors where I knew people who'd go out almost every night of the week, just like a any school.

For most programs, it's a pretty intense work load at Cornell. I mean, I'm not sure they even issue housing to architecture students. Seem to just give them a cot in their studio.

If anybody actually thinks it's a "party school", they have never spent time at an average Midwestern state school.

If I went to any of the Big 10 schools back home that most of my HS friends go to, and I put in just half the effort I do at Cornell, not only would I have a 3.9, but I'd also be able to go out 3 nights a week. And I'm a bio major.
