Cornell problem. help?

Hey,

So here's problem. I tried to check my decision online and I received this. I quote

"Cornell University’s Undergraduate Admissions Office does not have an online decision for you at this time. Please refer to the decision letter that you will be receiving in the mail within the next 5-7 days."

What does this mean? Why did this happen? One of my friend, who is also an princeton interviewer, suggested that this maybe that you're wait listed. Can someone help me out? And did anyone else receive this?

Thanks.

It just means that you will get a letter as in a solid physical letter in your mailbox…you just can’t view your decision online that’s all

I got my online decision yesterday :D

same here…
I talked with an alumnus. He told me the same thing happened to him. He said they might give us a conditional admission (?).
Americas Do you mind if I ask a little about your application?
Did you send all required materials on time?
What about SAT scores?

bump…

@danielpcapos

oh… conditional admission… great… i tried to escape from the conditional offer from not applying to UK, but they’re giving me a conditional to Cornell? and you question:
yes. i did give in my all required materials on time, which includes common application, supplement and application fee.

SAT scores: 1800

and do you know why cornell didn’t give us a online decision letter? i mean… i thought they already decided the acceptance?

I had similar SATs: 1900/ 680 CR/ 670 M/ 550 W ( maybe the reason for the conditional admission)
I believe they didn’t send us an on line decision because they have to explain what we’ll have to do in order to enroll and I don’t think they can do that on the on line decision letter

Please, if someone has extra info about this issue feel free to helps us ;D
Thanks

man… i really hope you’re right danielcampos.
I would really do anything to get in to cornell.

wait… so there is such a thing as conditional offer in America?
what would it be like? get a 35 IB points or all 4’s for AP?

and btw, did you write a relatively good essay?

i wrote about DNA with super-human powers e.g telekinesis

may i ask what you wrote?

I really don’t know much about it ;(
I do know that cornell offers conditional admissions to students with great potential but lacking some stas, such as sats or grades

My essay was pretty good I guess. I wrote about the time I had a tutoring class in my school’s library. I believe the essays and the rec letters were the best part of my application.

I got an admission offer from Duke. I mean Duke’s great, but Cornell…
Btw we’ll probably receive the letter later this week. Hopefully good news

by the way, what did you apply for? i applied mine to the college of Arts and science.

and are you an international student? and from where?

hey. i found out.

I just called them, it means that are applications were not complete.
So our application was reviewed.

What a bummer.

the review was not reviewed

That’s bad news ;/
I applied to Arts and Sciences too.
Let’s hope for good news now.
Thanks and good luck!
