Any more SHA acceptances?
PianoWinterfell nope waivers don’t hurt your chances at all. Essays are the key
they know how you applied
Any NY acceptances out there to SHA this week?
My son forgot to upload his resume back in November when he applied. He realized last week and uploaded it on 2/24. Will it be considered or was it too late already? He couldn’t find anything on the portal that explained if it would still be reviewed or if there was a deadline for additional materials. Thanks!
The alumni deadline for submitting meeting reports was 3/1, so I would suspect something received before then would still be considered.
^^ about the resume, I ended up submitting it on the portal. Is that okay or did I have to email it to them?
yep uploading to the portal is fine
i think Cornell says on their website that deadline for submitting supplemental materials is 2/15
@momofsenior1 - Thank you for the input. It would have been so discouraging if it wasn’t included with his application as he spent ages writing that essay (not to mention the 10-hour roundtrip, an overnight stay, and the fee!)
@PianoWinterfell - then he was 9 days past the deadline. Yeesh. Everything else was in on time, but his resume had some important stuff on it. I should make him reimburse me for the hotel and application fee now
@familyfromLI haha don’t worry! I’m pretty sure they would still consider it though. Where are you guys located?
@PianoWinterfell - we’re on Long Island, NY. After I saw your post and told him it was probably too late, he went back to his portal, and he said that the area where he uploaded the resume had disappeared. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that means that the darned thing made it into his application under the wire!
@familyfromLI I just checked my portal after reading your post and yes the upload button disappeared!!
It says in my portal that I’ll hear from the office in late march. Do you guys see the same message?
@PianoWinterfell - I’ll ask him to check
Does not submitting a resume hurt chances of admission?
@PianoWinterfell - yes his portal says the same. Good luck!
@collegemom111111 - I don’t know whether submitting a resume hurts a student’s chances of admission as long as they were able to get everything they wanted to convey to the admissions counselor on the Common App. In my son’s case, he wanted to explain some of the things he did in more detail and the Common App just didn’t provide enough space.
@collegemom111111 resumes are helpful if adding some additional information to an application otherwise it’s okay if a resume wasn’t submitted. Last year I received a likely letter without one. Good luck to this years applicants!
