Essays should be unique, Interview should go well, but no hooks

Give me an honest opinion, guys!

Definitely a match (and bordering on safety). Your test scores, grades, and ECs are all very strong. If you don’t get in, I can’t imagine who will.

Cool.
But I have a question: I’ve been looking at the results threads, and I found that there are quite a few people who got into HYPSM and got rejected/waitlisted by Cornell. What is up with that?

It seems that Cornell with their 7 different colleges emphasis “fit” more than most. This is why there seems to be numerous cases of students with 3.75 GPA & 1350 SAT’s getting in and 4.0 & 1550 students getting rejected. Once you decide which college to apply to you must “sell” how your life experiences, education, and future goals match up with the stated purpose and mission of the college.
