Guys I’m just so nervous. I’m worried my GPA and SAT are going to ruin it for me lol
@YesPolyglotGal what were they? and don’t worry too much, SHA values “fit” over scores for the most part as long as your scores are reasonable
My SAT is a 1300/1600 and my GPA is a 3.2… @litlhoward2468
@YesPolyglotGal 3.2 uw or weighted?
3.2 UW @BigNoodle
@YesPolyglotGal while those are on the lower end, you could potentially make up for it with work experience and “fit”. what is your work experience and do you have any hooks?
@litlhoward2468 My work experience is as follows:
• Job as hostesss at IHOP in another state, 25-35 hours per week; commuted to another state to do this. (grade 9-10)
• Job as cashier and server at pretzel place, 35-40 hours per week (grade 10)
• Job as cashier and crew member at fast food place, 35-45 hours per week (grade 11)/ quit because they were paying me less than what they should have been paying me
• cashier and crew member at very popular fast food restaurant, 26-40 hours per week (summer of grade 11-present)
I guess my only hook is URM status. I am half black.
@YesPolyglotGal i wouldn’t rule yourself out. just hope you essays read well and that you showed that you would be a great fit
any other people applying RD to SHA? seems like there were a lot more people in the ED forum…
@litlhoward2468 Would you mind reading my common app essay and giving me your opinion of it and whether or not you think it shows that I am a fit?
@YesPolyglotGal definitely!

Applied to SHA!
If they go about it the same way they have in the past couple of years, decisions should be mailed out sometime next week
Wow
Out of curiosity, has anyone received a letter yet?
does hotel send likely letters like the other schools? has anyone received one?
A letter of acceptance? They are most likely coming 1st/2nd week of March. Last year people on this forum received their’s around March 7.
and the years before they were received on the 4th and 5th. hopefully its the 4th or 5th this year because thats the end of the first week of march and every year they have sent them out the first week
