@morganb123 I don’t think they got emails last year from what the thread has in it, but they did receive phone calls that asked them basically the same things. I think it’s a good sign but only time can tell haha
@CCSenioritis do you know if some of the people who received the call were accepted or not
@morganb123 Everyone who received the call on cc last year were accepted
@CCSenioritis Oh ok and these calls basically said the same thing?
Are emails/calls just going out to URMs this year?
the people involved are from the students of color association so im assuming asians count as well. @brooklyn13 no clue if others went out though
When do the URMs go out?
@morganb123 They will send diversity hosting letters this week. Not all URM’s will receive it though.
Anyone know if CHE only sends emails/calls out to students of color? Or is it more like ILR/SHA (aside from the physical likely letter)?
@CCSenioritis - What are diversity hosting letters? Can you explain in more detail.
Also, @CCSenioritis - I don’t get the post you made into the other thread:
"If you are a URM(regardless of college) or a woman in engineering you MIGHT receive this:
-Diversity Hosting Letter(next week)
-Decision on Ivy Day
If you are in ILR/SHA you MIGHT receive this:
-Decision on Ivy Day
-Acceptance from rolling admissions in the coming waves
If you are anything other than a URM/WIE(includes:CAS/CALS/HumEc/Engineering)(doesn’t include ILR/SHA) you MIGHT receive this:
-Decision of Ivy Day
Ivy Day (as posted by Cornell https://caaan.admissions.cornell.edu/CAAANCalendar.pdf , by Yale in the admissions status portal, and somewhere else by Pton):
-March 31st
Reposted"
Where does it account for what you are saying now? And are you sure likely letters aren’t sent for the HumEc URMs, based on some other thread?
@pwlrstudent Diversity hosting letters are sent to some URM applicants to any college. It’s just an event in April where they invite accepted URM’s to come and see the campus like an orientation of sorts.
I don’t really understand your second question. Likely letters in the past have come in the form the diversity event for URM’s and women in engineering. URM’s in human ecology are able to receive the diversity letter just like anyone in any other college.
lol so have we figured out what that email meant?
@Amumizu well @CCSenioritis and I figured that it took the place of the phone calls because the phone calls were before the diversity letter and also said the same thing as the emails. did you get an email from a student ambassador?
@childish20 yup.
@amumizu then congratulations!!! welcome to the club~ what’s your major
I got the Diversity Hosting email today, but no ambassador email. Does that mean anything?
@LViaLViaquez Well you’re definitely in because the Diversity Hosting email is a straight up likely letter ! Congrats on that! I guess the meaning of the emails has yet to be seen :-/ But, from previous threads have held that the phone calls (which we have speculated to be the emails this year) pointed to admission on Ivy Day. But again - here’s to waiting (on my part lol).
Hi everyone. Congratz on getting in! Just thought I’d say hi. I got my LL today - so surprised lol - I am Asian and an international haha. Anyone else major in Human Bio, Health, & Society?
Also, my LL is not in the form of Diversity Letter:
Dear xxxxx,
I am writing to let you know that the admissions selection committee has completed its review of your application for admission to Cornell University. Although the Ivy League member institutions will not officially notify Regular Decision applicants of their decision until March 31, it may help you with your planning to know that you will very likely be admitted to Cornell University.
If you submitted an international financial aid application by the deadline to be considered for aid, you can expect to be notified soon after March 31 regarding your selection. As a reminder, Cornell University provides need-based financial aid on a limited basis to a selected number of admitted international students who have applied for international financial aid. Due to the limited availability of funds we cannot provide funding assistance to all admitted international students who demonstrate financial need.
I would also like to extend an invitation to you to consider attending our annual Cornell Days program, which takes place on select days from April 14-25. The Cornell Days program is an opportunity for you to meet faculty and students, have lunch in one of our outstanding dining facilities, tour the campus, and ask all the questions you may have about Cornell. In addition, Ithaca itself is an exciting college town offering much to do and see. If you are unable to visit during Cornell Days, you can arrange to visit at any other time that is convenient for you and your family.
Please accept my congratulations on your many achievements! I wish you the very best, and I look forward to the possibility of welcoming you to the campus as a future Cornellian.
Sincerely,
Shawn L. Felton
Director of Undergraduate Admissions
Cornell University
Did anyone get the same thing as me?
Since this thread’s kinda dead right now, what major is everyone going in under?
