Cornell Human Ecology ED Class of 2022 Thread

I’ve noticed that the HumEc ED applicants are hard to find because of the many Engineering, CAS, etc. applicants so here’s a thread for us to ask each other questions and talk to each other. So what majors are you guys applying to?

PAM

nutritional sciences

if you guys do not mind sharing, and i know stats are not the only thing that is looked at for admittance, what are all of your sat scores and/or GPA? I just get nervous because i feel mine are not high enough for what they are looking for, although a lot i see are for engineering which do tend to lean towards the higher side.

@skidoc9772 3.995 GPA, 1500 SAT (1540 SS) are my stats but you have to learn to take the stats on these threads with a grain of salt, especially since you are applying to human ecology because HumEc probably looks at fit more than any other school in Cornell. I’ve seen people with 1300 SATs and lower GPAs get in and those with high SATs and GPAs not get in. It’s all about fit. If you showed that you really want to go to this school, how you would benefit from it, and how the school would benefit from having you there then you should be fine. I’m not saying that grades and SATs aren’t important but if your supplement and ECs are strong then you have a good shot of getting in. Personally, the main thing I am concerned about is that my supplement was too risky and not truly showcasing my love for the school not the class I got a B in, not taking enough APs etc.

I’m applying ED to Policy Analysis & Management. I have about a 3.7 UW GPA and a 31 ACT. I’m pretty weak in math and science, not really expecting to get in but I hope haha

Prospective PAM applicants, Please share your career options. Im very interested to find out different options
Thanks!

@jm18271 it’s all about your fit and how you expressed that in your essays.

yes I agree with @scorpion2000 I would love to know the career options for the PAM applicants…Thank you

@LvMyKids2 I love everything about HE and PAM. I fell in love when discovered it. Then I visited and loved it more.

I asked this in the ED thread but did Cornell ask for anyone’s first quarter grades?

@Scorpion2000 My daughter is a junior pam major.
