Cornell Tradition Fellowship?

I got a letter in the mail saying that I have been selected as a Cornell Tradition Fellow. This is after I had noticed a change in my financial aid award in which subsidized loans were replaced with money from this Fellowship. Has any other admit for this upcoming Fall semester been chosen for this? Is this a big deal, or is it just a glorified work-study opportunity? It seems special, but I'm not really sure what I did to earn the selection.

bumpity bump

Wow! Yes, it as a VERY big deal. The Cornell Tradition fellowship is comparable to the Neiman Fellowship an Harvard or the Franklin Fellowship at Penn. It means that the admissions committee thinks of you as a leader. CTF’s are awarded only to those who have demonstrated leadership in the community or in the business environment. To repeat, it is a very big deal.
