Cornell Transfer Chances

<p>Hi!</p>

<p>I'm a student at Mendoza at Notre Dame, and I was wondering about my chances at a transfer this fall to Cornell A&S (and if Dyson chooses to looks at my application, so much the better I guess). An approximation of my stats (with college GPA and SAT exact):</p>

<p>SAT: 2400
ACT: 36
ND GPA (with advanced and, in one case, grad level coursework): 4.0 first, 4.0 midterm 2nd
Econ/Math major, with micro/macro and calc ii, iii courses taken</p>

<p>High school - accidentally applied to the entirely wrong college at Cornell ED, which might have had something to do with not getting in, but maybe it just wasn't the right time. 4/4 weighted, generally great resume, gpa could be a bit higher but was above the average accepted from my HS ("elite" -hate to use that word- private, east coast).
Essay top-knotch</p>

<p>Reasons for transfer:
1. Lack of diversity
2. My intended concentration/major program, as well as my intended minor/double major, is not here in any way, shape, or form.
3. The above programs are very strong at Cornell.
4. I am sure I want to work on the East Coast, and ND seems to attract Midwestern firms.
5. Really, really want Greek life (not on my app, since it's not an academic reason), which is nonexistent here.
6. Want a school without a religion/philosphy/humanities based core - I find the humanities interesting, but want to choose which classes I want to take.</p>

<p>Thus, I think my stats and reason for a potential transfer are all reasonable. With that being said, I'd love feedback on whether or not you think the transfer would be a smart idea, as there's still time to think about it.</p>

<p>What do u mean by wrong college at Cornell? If your scores are truly what u say, then most likely u would have be accepted.</p>

<p>I initially planned to apply to a program that exists in two colleges, but when i changed my mind i forgot to change my intended college. Hope that makes sense. Thanks smrsmr, no one else needs to reply to this unless they think that it can help them. i wrote this after an all nighter in a moment of random panic, so sorry to waste CC space.
