So were you thinking you would go to an Ivy League school and have no stress?

I didn’t listen to it, but FWIW:
When I started out with D1s college hunting journey, long ago, my own impression of Cornell was of high stress. I studied vey hard subjects when I was there long ago, but was not really that smart and did not do all that well.

But as I started going around with D1, all I found as we visited schools that were highly regarded for academics, was students who were working hard and were under stress. She visited: Swarthmore, Haverford, Bryn Mawr,Wellesley, the story was always the same. I came away with a very different impression than I had originally. Based on that experience, I now believe there is no free lunch, that a certain level of academic reputation will most likey be one that is earned.

My D2 is now at Cornell, working hard of course, but having a wonderful experience overall.

YMMV.

Monydad, agree again. And as a parent about to begin paying $56,000/yr. for DS2 at Cornell, there better be some stress. I could send him on vacation for a lot less!

@redshoes; just give him the education and the vacation!
he would surely like both

And that puts a wrap to this troller.

We look stressed out, but it’s secretly because we missed last week’s episode of Community. One thing led to another so we’re now reading up on the Portal 2 ARG on the Valve wiki (holy crap, they have a wiki).

failboat you may just be right. I was just talking about what the president at that university has said, and ps, everyone I know that went off to cornell does not look very stressed about the school

FYI every top notch school is stressful, especially come April. My sis is at GaTech (not Ivy, but still respectable) and she told me today that campus is basically silent nowadays with finals coming up

Aha i actually like the rumors about cornell. When you graduate people would be amazed at the amount of work and stress that you supposedly handled. Of course there are a good number of concentrations that are just as hard as they are rumored to be, but most of it, at least how my friends @ CU tell me, are just folklore. The people that you think were not really qualified and still got in? well, they’ll be the source of your curve.
