****Cornell University Class of 2021 Regular Decision Thread****

congrats everyone!! that’s amazing! so these aren’t likely letters, they are actual acceptances? and theyre only for SHA and ILR?

I really hope I got in here, but it’s all good if I didn’t. The applicant pool is so competitive - I’m sure they’ll accept some truly amazing people for the class of 2021

@allima correct. Even those who were deferred from ILR and SHA (only those two schools) received decisions today and yesterday. Perhaps not everybody received a decision but I know several applicants who did.

What state is everyone from that received? I think the mail takes longer for Midwest to the West. Just curious. If everyone is east coast still then mail for other states haven’t reached them yet.

Did only NY applicants receive their decisions via mail?

^i got mine today and I live in California

Does CAS do likely letters at all?

If I applied ED to SHA from NY and got deferred and did not recieve any letter. Does that mean my chance of getting accepted is very small?

@Alllcolqs768 I don’t think so because not everyone has received a letter yet. Hopefully you’ll get yours soon enough.

@brian2746 only kids that get accepted recieve letters. Everyone else gets their decision on March 30th

Then I’ll take it that I got denied

has anyone been admitted in the past to ILR who did not receive letters in the beginning of the month? i’m worried now lol

Do they send likely letters to international students? (for ilr)

the ilr applicants who got acceptred: does it show up on your cornell portal?

OMG I just saw my cornell portal and realized that I picked a wrong major by accident. I intended to apply as a marketing major but accidentally chose applied economics and management in common app. My common app essay is all about how i want to concentrate my studies in marketing. I’m afraid that it would confuse the admission officers. I just emailed cornell whether they could update my major, but I’m scared that it might change my admission chance… Do you guys think that it’ll be ok?

Has anyone from Massachusetts received anything from ILR or SHA?

@TheCrimsonBulldog I live in mass and haven’t received anything from ilr

Okay, I can see that most people on this thread are looking for ILR or SHA. I am wondering if anyone knows about CALS (I was looking for a CALS thread that is current and could not find one). Does CALS send out likely letters at all and did anyone get one? Does CALS send out any early acceptances like it sounds like IRL and SHA did?

Only ILR and SHA get these. Has anyone from New York City received one of these letters yet?

I think there is a lot of confusion in this thread about the difference between Mailed-letters indicating your decision early (only for ILR AND SHA), and “likely letters” (for Cornell, these are normally called diversity letters and they HAVE gone out in the past to CAS, CoE applicants, despite what everyone is saying). Idk about CALS.
