Cornell v. Northwestern Engineering

Hi, I got into both Cornell and Northwestern Engineering. Could you guys please provide some information about the two schools, and compare their curriculum, workload, life, social life, housing, influence on career/graduate school and people, of course!

I really need some help to decided which school to go! Thanks!

I can’t really speak to the undergrad life at Cornell, but I’ll say this, having lived in both cities as a student now:

The location is a HUGE difference. You MUST have a preference with regard to that.

The first-year curriculum is very different. Cornell’s version is more or less the traditional one that’s been around for decades. NU’s engineering is more design-focused and more about producing “whole-brain engineers”; this focus is what’s behind the Engineering First curriculum.
