Cornell versus UT Austin for engineering

This is a similar post to one in the engineering forum, but I figured many people don't visit it so it would be interesting to see what comments other people had.
For chemical engineering especially, UT is ranked far above Cornell, but I'm sure the rankings don't tell it all, so any comments over why one is better than the other would be appreciated. This may seem like a David and Goliath comparison, but UT is pretty good for engineering. Please refrain from flaming UT unless you have a reason.

I'm especially interested in the following comparisons:
1. Quality of professors/curriculum
2. Undergraduate research opportunities
3. Work load
4. Class sizes
5. Number of classes taught by TA's

Any other relevant information would be appreciated. Thanks.

from what i heard the two aren't that different in terms of engineering (which i didnt apply for btw)--the biggest difference for most is the cost of tuition (like at least 20k or something)

bump. Also, what things should I make sure to do when I'm at Cornell Days to get a good feel for what the engineering program is like besides going to the information session? Thanks.
