Cornell vs. Colorado School of Mines Engineering

I am looking for some advice. I am a Colorado resident and am not sure if I should pursue petroleum engineering at the Colorado School of Mines or study Chemical engineering at Cornell University. What do you guys think, is Cornell worth going to for chemical engineering? Or am I better off staying in Colorado and studying petroleum engineering?

I know the two disciplines are similar. But I am uncertain on which University can offer me more opportunities.

Thank you for your input!

The two disciplines aren’t similar. You should do some research on what field you want to be involved in and then make a decision.

Is there a price difference?

If you want to work in the oil & gas industry, I’d go for PetE at Mines. Otherwise, both are great schools. Cornell will be a much bigger name in the East but Mines will probably be a peer in the West.
