Cornell vs. Dartmouth

You can have as many minors + majors as you want.

Grade deflation is a myth. However, if you are extremely concerned about getting a good GPA, it might be better if you either don’t major in engineering or go to an easy school. Still, getting a 3.8+ is very doable, you just need to be willing to work hard.

@zenzic would you mind if i asked what major you are pursuing at cornell and if you are on the pre med track or have friends who are? i realize that getting a 4.0 in college (especially at schools like cornell or dartmouth) is pretty unreasonable. so is it possible to get a 3.8+ and still maybe have somewaht of a life haha? also, is it hard to do internal transfer between the schools at cornell?

I wouldn’t say getting a 3.8 is “very” doable. A 3.8 at any school as a premed is difficult (wait until you take orgo) and at Cornell, it’s harder.

I was talking to my friend who is premed at Dartmouth and science courses there are curved to same grade as Cornell- a B. Apparently, for Orgo at Dartmouth it is two terms, with a 6 hour lab period both terms. At Cornell, you can take Orgo lecture and lab separately and only have a lab 3 hours a week for one semester.
