Cornell vs. JHU? [For BME]

Hey everyone,

As of right now, I'm interested in a biomedical engineering (here on out BME) major for undergrad, and I've narrowed my choices down to JHU's BME program or Cornell. Yes, I realize there's no BME major offered at Cornell, but they have the minor available, and the M.Eng 5-year option.

Which means, if I go to Cornell, I'd most likely do ChemE (which scares me, cause of Orgo), or Biological Engineering (which sounds like a lot of plant stuff -- can anyone clarify what this major really entails?)

But as of now, I'm not entirely positive about what I want to do in life [about 75% sure it's BME]. So should I go to Hopkins [ranked #1 in the nation for BME undergrad], or should I leave more options open and go to Cornell [which doesn't even have the major, but I could potentially get the masters]? And when I start looking for jobs, which degree would look better assuming I wouldn't be going after a Ph.D immediately after graduation?

Thanks for responses, sorry for rambling xD.

I would go for Hopkins honestly, since it seems if you don’t do BME, you would wanna do something similar, which Hopkins would be good at too. BME is the best at Hopkins, so I wouldn’t waste it.

BTW, you’re gonna have to take Orgo as BME, ChemE, or BioE.

and BioE isn’t plant stuff, I’m pretty sure its very similar to BME, just less focus on the medical applications.

if i were in your case, i’d go to hopkins.

I agree with Feral24. Pick Hopkins :)

Congrats on getting in BTW~

Biological Engineering is not plant stuff. It gives you a broader base into various applications of engineering in biology as an undergraduate.
