Cornell vs. Johns Hopkins University vs. UVA

which one of these should i pick for premed?
neither gave me any significant scholarships or financial aid packages.
hopkins costs 43k/year and cornell costs me 39k/year.
UVA only costs me 5k/year though since they gave me significant aid.

Medical school is expensive. You don’t want to add an extra $160,000 worth of loans on top of that.

thanks ymon, and for anyone else reading this, please help, i literally only have a FEW HOURS LEFT to decide.

if money is the issue then UVA, otherwise you can’t go wrong, just pick which you might be happier at.

i’ll probably end up at UVA anyway since my parents only agreed to pay 2/3rds of my undergrad if i matriculated to the first two. i just need to get opinions from students so i make sure i’m not losing out on anything. i made several threads.

well if they are making you pay for some of the tuition, then UVA for sure. I’m not a student yet but I live in c’ville (as it is called) and the area is great. I honestly doubt UVA would put you at a disadvantage, as those other two would cost you allot. That is just my opinion, if I had to choose and I had to pay any amount, I would go for the bang for the buck.

bottles33: UVA wins for me. Much cheaper and why would you want lots of debt before beginning med school?

i asked on the cornell forum and they seem to agree. i guess i’ll pay the deposit in a few hours here.

bottles, you may have already decided, but I’m writing as somebody who attended Cornell and JHU and now teaches at UVA. Academically they are all excellent and in fact strike me as more or less equivalent. Therefore you don’t need to regret making money the deciding factor.
