Can anyone help me with comparing Cornell, Duke and WashU? I know a lot of the general differences, but would appreciate others' perspectives on this issue. I'm interested in biology/neurobiology and I may be premed. Thanks

All three schools offer great programs in biology and neuro-biology, complete with research opportunities, internships, and strong pre-med advising.

The main differences I think will come out in the character and diversity of the student bodies. Cornell is a big melting pot of all sorts of different students. Duke is definitely more preppy and conservative.

Cornell will be the only place where you will find farmers and philosophers and architects and engineers and ... er.... hotel managers.

Duke and Cornell offer more of a big time sports scene. Lynah is the hockey equivalent of Cameron Indoor. WashU does not.

A good friend of mine went to Duke for undergrad and is now at Cornell for graduate school. She finds the Cornell campus a bit more comfortable and diverse. Unless you are dead set on going Greek and being a Cameron Crazie, Cornell will offer you more social options.

You can't go wrong. I don't know much about Wash U, but I do know that Cornell and Duke both have excellent Biology programs.
