@oldfort I’m the parent. Thanks for the information - if it doesn’t matter whether GC or parent, I might as well do it myself. Many thanks for the information.
does anyone know my chances of getting of the dyson waitlist/how many people dyson waitlists in total?
Fyi, I believe a lot of ILR waitlisted students will be offered a TO if they do not make it off the waitlist. This is from other posts I have found.
@spring0014 Whats TO?
Do people ever come off of wait lists? Put a deposit down elsewhere yesterday, but Cornell might be a win if it happens.
Thanks.
@qwxmntklp TO is a transfer option. It is a guaranteed transfer option. You go to another school your first year and take a few required classes, maintain a 3.3 and not get any grade below a B, and pretty much guaranteed a transfer in the next fall.
Does anyone know where or who I should submit a LOCI to? I was waitlisted to CALS so I really want to tell them it’s my number one choice. When I looked at my original login (where the checklist was) I saw that on the side dropdown, where we had the option to submit supplementals, one option is “Waitlist Correspondence”. Should I submit it here or send it directly to someone in admissions?
@OneMoreKid – Students do clear the WL but the # varies from year to year and across colleges.
Here are the # of students who cleared the WL each of the past several years. Info is not broken down by college.
2017 — 75
2016 — 61
2015 — 81
2014 — 96
In 2018 they offered 164 spots off the waitlist.
Thanks. I hope he doesn’t make it off. All-in right now with a school with an equivalent Engineering program and I’ve had enough of this ****. Cornell’s “better” overall, but about the same for Engineering. I’m OK. All is well.
does anyone have access to the information page about the waitlist? pls help
CAS Waitlisted
@coniston1 try logging into the portal again, also i believe they emailed info as well, so check your regular inbox and spam folder
@oldfort Thank you very much for sharing and when you mention contacting your child’s GC, do you mean her Cornell Area GC or the child’s High School GC, for them to call? Thanks again!
My daughter is WL in College of HumEc for Fiber Science and it is her 1st choice, so if taken off waitlist she will definitely attend.
I meant high school GC to call, he/she probably would contact your Cornell area admission representative.
What did you guys include in ur LOCI? Mine was rlly long and I’m afraid the AO will be too busy to read it
When will cornell start admitting students off the waitlist? I got WL at humec…
@max2737 last year it started with engineering on May 4, Humec was one of the last colleges to release whether or not people got off the waitlist
Any clue when Engineering would be released? @teddy10143
Idk last year engineering seemed to be the first to be released on May 4, but it could be different this year
