Alright I’m gonna take a break from this thread for a while. It’s making me anxious. I suggest you all do the same. This is like an abusive relationship. We don’t get anything from being in it, but we keep coming back.
@yoyoyorar I uploaded a LOCI to my portal on 4/22 and then sent an email to the AO the same day stating my interest. I sent another email about my continued interest this week (after the may 1st deadline I thought it would be important to express that). I’m also from NYC!
@daisy57 Ah ok, thanks for the info. I sent in a LOCI on 4/12, so I guess it would be good to contact them and just reaffirm my interest since it’s been 3+ weeks. If you don’t mind me asking another question, did you just write a few sentences saying that Cornell is still your top choice or did you write a more detailed email about why you want to go like in your LOCI? And also, did you just email the general engineering email address (engr_admissions) or a different one?
@user632555 uploaded my LOCI on 4/23 @yoyoyorar in my LOCI I first wrote about all my updates. In the end, I wrote a paragraph of 5-6 sentences explaining what Cornell offers for me and what I could offer to Cornell. I used the general engineering email, engr_admissions@cornell.edu.
@AstraDv it was a very brief email, something along the lines of “Even though the May 1st deadline has passed and I have committed to another college, I am still extremely interested in Cornell”
Ok guys CAS admissions emailed back saying “We can assure you that you are definitely still being considered for admission.” They said sorry for the long wait but there is a lot of “uncertainty” right now and they are proceeding in a “careful, measured way.”
Personally, I don’t see why they would have to wait any longer, but I guess I don’t know anything about what their situation could be like.
Really vague and opaque email. Doesn’t give us any new information about how much spots are left, although I did ask them… However, our hopes are still alive.
@gwang968 Omg thank you… I don’t know if it tells us much. When they said that you are definitely still being considered did they mean like everyone who got the “top of the list” email?
It looks like they’re offering people admission one by one then… AGH im so nervous and I really need this info to come sooner rather than later.
Hey guys has anyone heard anything from CALS? I emailed them a few days back if they were going to the waitlist and they havent emailed me back. Its weird because I’ve emailed them a couple of times in the past (not excessive or anything, just some genuine questions) and they have never replied back to me. The only time they have replied back to me was way back in early April/Late march.
I am a parent of a kid on HumEc WL. In with merit to a top 15 SLAC and yesterday got off the WL at Pomona which is like impossible to get into. Still waiting on Cornell.
