@daisy57 oh ok that’s great! I hope CAS works that way as well because I have sent in a letter of rec, updated grades, and a loci lol. Congrats!
@daisy57 thank you for letting us know! when you said you expressed interest a couple of times, what do you mean? Did you send them more than one email throughout April?
I also think it might just have been for CoE, so it does not mean much for the other colleges, but again we don’t know anything.
@daisy57 thank you so much for sharing your feedback on CoE. But we’re confused about what to do next. The CoE waitlist page specifically says that after sending in your initial email on continued interest, “Please do not send us multiple emails.”
I just withdrew my app because Ik there is no point waiting anymore. I should be set on where i am going now.
@FallAutumnLeaf , you are right. we’ve all had to commit to another college anyway so it is a good idea to concentrate on our wins. Where will you be going?
I am committed to Brandeis! It’s close and fits my major pretty well.
For whoever was asking earlier, I emailed SHA yesterday and they said they were moving forward with the wailtlist
@FallAutumnLeaf I’m happy for you! These past few days of waiting have def been very anxiety-filled lol, it’s honestly so much better to focus on where we’ve committed to rather than this waitlist. n i’m sure everyone on this thread is going to do amazing these next four years wherever they go
wish you all luck. I got the TO from CHE for next fall. At first I was bummed about not getting WL offer. Need closure and don’t want to prolong another year. Anyway, just got great news …called off Tufts waitlist yesterday! Fully committed for next 4! Wishing you all the same closure and success.
Did anyone reach out to the ILR AO? Any idea if they are still considering people on the waitlist?
For CAS people - do you think it is worth it to send an additional letter of recommendation at this time? If so, how should I send it?
This whole waitlist thing is stressing me out bigtime and Im also on a waitlist within the school Im committed to for a program and Im just so confused and stressed and that email didnt help things. As everyone has already said, sending it probably hurt more than helped if they really arent planning to take people off of the waitlist for weeks or even at all. I feel like I should just check out from this thread and wait to see if my time comes but Im also not going to because I need to know when to move on lol.
@justacuriouskid I dont think a second LOCi would really help anything. They have all the updated info they need. I was thinking of just sendin a short email to either CAS or my admissions rep to let them know I was still interested and would 100% enroll if offerred admission but Im not entirely sure if thats a good idea. I know theyre probabyl getting hundreds of emails a day and since I dont necessarily have a question I feel like theyd be annoyed
To all the CALS people: I don’t know if this will prove itself to be false hope, but I do genuinely believe that CALS is not done accepting people off the waitlist. I think that if they knew they didn’t want to accept anyone, they would have emailed us already and told us in order to prevent us from continuing to bombard them with emails. I think this is a valid conclusion to come to unless they have actually already reached out to people, but it just so happens that not even one of those people are on this thread.
Everyone on this thread right now needs to hear that they are incredibly talented and smart no matter what happens with this stupid waitlist. You’re all going to end up doing what you love and making such a positive impact on the world! We’re currently undergoing an extremely stressful process during wildly unprecedented times, and we’re gonna come out of this with more grit and resilience than we know what to do with. Keep your head up everyone!
Does SHA “moving forward with their waitlist” mean they are still going to the waitlist/there is still space remain for the fall 2020?
^@okay1218
yes @nyc1201
Anyone else here from Human Ecology yet? All I saw was a couple of kids from CT and one from Virginia. My kid turning down Pomona. Kinda bummed. Doesn’t want to go to West Coast despite the fact it is super-elite. Got in off of WL. Would really like Cornell. Going to Top SLAC with merit.
@FallAutumnLeaf , congratulations on Brandeis! I’ve committed to U of Toronto
.
The official waitlist stats for last year’s Cornell Class of 2023 show that 3,362 applicants accepted a place on the waitlist and of those 147 were offered admission. That’s 4.4% who made it off the waitlist. See link below.
