Won’t know for sure until after the 24th
If they don’t give another week extension…
I’m calling it, May 31st will be the true commitment day. End of may just seems very fitting
I hope you’re wrong but I think you’re right.
Could be, as that is the day after graduation weekend ends!
Sheesh, gonna manifest that it won’t be pushed back.
I’m not really sure, sorry, I didn’t ask about waitlist decisions. all I asked was if they planned on offering the TO to any waitlist applicants and they replied with that. I saw the thread you’re talking about, apparently it was actually a girl accepted as a transfer so I’m kinda confused now lol
Oh i knew they were going to take off for transfer option. To anyone that really wants TO! They said that I can put in my LOCI that I am interested in the TO if I cannot be admitted off the waitlist so perhaps that increase your chances? Or makes you seem more dedicated idk
yeahh I forgot to mention it in my loci so I did include in my email that I’d be interested in the TO too. hopefully they take note of that lol
also, say that they do offer the transfer option, does it matter if you change your major during your first year at your committed college? I’m thinking about changing to another major that would still be offered by CALS, if that makes a difference, they admit by college right?
You can change your major, but there are certain majors that are off limits (Biological engineering and global public health for example). I’m guessing those majors are so competitive. But yeah its easy to change within the school and honestly I feel like I’ll change mine too lmaooo.
I’m sure most waitlist Cornell simps didn’t mention it at all, so you have still showed an extra level of simpery which they may enjoy
If they told me to add my letter of interest, I’m sure they take it to account somewhat
is there a way to withdraw from the waitlist… I’m very satisfied with where I’m at right now (UC San Diego!) and don’t really have the want to go to Ithaca for college
You used to be able to resubmit the waitlist response form and change your answer, but the form is closed now so idk. Maybe you’re supposed to email them?
From Dyson: “ We do not have any updates regarding the waitlist at this time. You will be informed whether we close the waitlist or you are accepted off of it.”
I know it’s a generic response and doesn’t mean anything, but I am overthinking it regardless lol.
Which reddit thread are you referencing?
I did not write that I would like a TO, but I am interested in it. How should I let them know? Should I send em an email?
Hi, may I know which school AO suggested that? If CAS, we might do the same then. Thanks.
I just emailed the college admission email for CALS and asked if I can put in my LOCI that I was interested in the transfer option or if you can only indicate interest for this upcoming semester.
They told me to write that I would like the transfer option if I could not have regular admission this year.
You guys can email, but will they remember the email, I’m not sure. I don’t think they’ll keep a list of names that indicated interest but if they print out all our emails then that’s a different story.
Honestly, emailing can never hurt. Our chances of getting in are already so slim (sorry if that sounds negative) that this would proabably help us more
did you get a TO when you got waitlisted or just waitlisted?
I think you can only be selected for TO 1) after you get rejected* or 2) if you get waitlisted > rejected, so right now we’re all just waitlisted and won’t know if we get TO until they release the rest of decisions
*correct me if Im wrong but I thought I remembered reading rejected students could also get the TO, not sure
I have the same understanding. Some rejected students did get TO around the decision day.
