cornell wrestling

momofwildchild - is your son planning on going to cornell? do you have any other kids there? also i'd bet that you can vouch that blair gets a lot of fans

My son is a hs junior. Cornell is high on the list. He is a runner, and has met with the coach. We're still early in the process.
Yes, wrestling gets a lot of fans at Blair and all the high schools and colleges in that western NJ and PA area. It is huge in Bethelem (Lehigh etc.)
My daughter is a soph at Rice.
I looked at Cornell for myself back in the day,but didn't get in!

A little off topic but a plug for Cornell track ... Cornell & Penn used to have a program where every other year they jointly had a meet with Oxford ... alternating home sites ... so a varsity track guy went to England once during their 4 years and hosted an English opponent once also ... pretty cool event ... I'm not sure if they still do it but it might be worth checking into

Everyone used to go to wrestling matches at my school...but all the hot wrestlers graduated last year, so now less people are interested. But it's fun to watch :)

lol, i've actually had girls tell me that's why they come to my matches. But to be honest i wish more people would come because they really like the sport.

I like the matches for the sport, but it's hard to ignore all the hot wrestlers! :p Except for when they end up starving themselves to make weight class. Then they get a sickly look for a couple months!

Ahhh I know, I feel so bad for them!!! It's so weird at my school, all the guys will be like "no drinking, no candy, I'm on a diet" and the chics are like bring it on! Hahah...suckers! :p

And I do really like the sport...my bro was a wrestler so I've kind of been conditioned to love it! :D
