Dont Drink and Derive

haha...even though it does seem tempting, i might control myself from those crazyass derivatives.

Haha we were joking about spelling that out on our senior t-shirts!! (Everyone goes out on the bleachers and spells out phrases with their friends. lol)

This thread=unparalleled dorkiness...

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha I know.. We ended up spelling out...

WEWILLBEYOURBOSSES

Pretentious, I know, but amidst the "MOSTWANTED" and "HOTCONTENTS" and many other affirmations of which group was the best-looking, it was a welcome change. lol

that's awesome lol

Do cornellian girls freeze when walking to parties? or do they wear pants :(

ill offer to give them a ride :)

homework help

That reminds me of freshman year, when my engineering friend John offered to help CAS student Laura with her calculus homework.

He reported back to me “Wow, wattya know Laura got [higher than him] on her math SATs!”

She declined his offer.

This thread started in '04, has anything changed since then?

an entirely new cohort of girls and guys…and the rise of facebook, texting, and other technology related to socializing. however, I think many of the statements that I just browsed over are probably just as mostly-inaccurate today as they were then…because I think it’s impossible to make any statement about these matters without over-generalizing to the point of not being insightful.

This post from 2004 is hauntingly accurate:

Ivy goggles, LOL. Sad but true.

That really discourages folks who wanted a mere date. :|

i know islander4! As a moderately attractive female, I hoped to find a serious, intelligent, and mature guy to date at Cornell. Wait, is that even possible?

There always girls/guys at ithaca college… but I am sure these generalizations are not completely true.

Facepalm

We have four effing years to figure out what the dating scene is. Who dug up this thread anyways? Please let it die.

@Intellectual5: As a guy, I’m offended. I’m pretty sure it’s possible if you’re not too negative about it.

I’m actually really looking forward to meeting a whole new group of guys. My unfortunate cynicism comes from the fact that I attended an all-girls high school and the handfull of guys that I did date turned out to be… well… not so great to say the least

the other Ivies first accepted women in the 70’s - Cornell has accepted Women since the 1860’s - so they have obviously gotten good at accepting great women - the guys just need to understand that they need to make an effort too…
