Cornell's Comparative Biomedical Sciences PhD program

Hello all,

I will be a future CBS PhD student at Cornell University. Out of curiosity, I was wondering how is the reputation of the program? The program is offered through the College of Vet. Med., and I will be focusing on virology.

I would like to know its reputation because I want to be in a good position for a post-doc at either MIT or Harvard. I understand I need to publish many high-impact journals, but how would you describe its overall repuation?

Thank you.

Hmm… I can’t speak with full confidence but I know that if you really apply yourself in grad school you should be in good standing. I’ve seen PhD graduates of SUNY-Downstate end up as post docs at Columbia or Rockefeller University. Just stating what I’ve seen, I really don’t have any knowledge of the Cornell program.

Thanks for the reply. I will definitely work hard.

Is anyone familiar with Cornell’s program?

C’mon, there are 140 students in the program. None of them read this forum? lol

Do you realize how little that simple is in the Internet? haha

lol I know. Just trying to get some responses.
