How strong is the Economics department at Cornell?
[For reference, you can compare it to that of UC Berkeley or something]

Well, for graduate study UC Berkeley blows it out of the water.

But for undergraduate study it is just fine.

I would say that something is better than Cornell. Something has been putting a lot of resources into its econ department.

Yeah, I was talking about undergrad.
lol Nesquik

I remember a huge post by Alexandre about the strength of various college's Economics Department. Cornell, ain't that strong, compared to Harvard or Chicago or even Penn or Yale. Its like Duke, not wow but still nothing to laugh at. However, if you're thinking an Econ. major to break into IB or Consulting then yes a Cornell Econ. degree will serve you well. But again your major doesn't matter, your college matters.

cornell goes further into econometrics (w/ linear algebra) than does harvard or other schools. prof told me, can't really back it up otherwise. it's a good dept.
