hey, i really enjoy sales and marketing. but i like selling relationships and the intangebles even more than a concrete object because i think its much more fun. people have told me to work for a mutual fund firm and when i get enough client base start my own company. any other career options?

brand management? public relations?

you could do network marketing for a global MLM... those are all about relationships sales.... you really have to sell the relationship to get all those people in your downline to get all their people in their downline, despite the 99.9% failure rate

sales can be found in any career. what do you like, what do you know and in turn what do you want to sell? And how do you know for sure it is something you want to wholly concentrate on for a career. Since college allows for a part time job, try to obtain one that requires sales, one based of commission and see how you do. Example a verizon store, or a local manufacturing warehouse, or even a job at a local retail bank.

well, i hold accounts to several large wholesalers in new york city and jersey for luggage and my startup company(im vp) hold licenses to several big urban fashion companies. and i have a constant flow of inquiries. Im only a freshman in college. i just think its much more enjoyable to sell relationships than to say the same things over and over again on a product. i like to think outside the box to get a bunch of people to chill at my beach house, take families out to ski trips, buy ppl's kids the perfect gift. basically have them write me a fat check and enjoy doing it!
