Correcting error in admission

Hey all,

I just applied today to Caltech (I think I've got a 50-50 shot...internship...pretty stellar essays) but realized that I left one section blank.

Apparently when you submit the main application, you submit the "questions" part of the Caltech supplement too. Yee-haw.

As a result, I left the "list your top 3 science activities, in order of importance, here" blank. They are listed in almost the exact order of importance on my extracurricular list for the regular CA application, but this part is empty and I missed out on a chance to elaborate more which is definitely not good.

Is this a large enough concern to get corrected? If so, who should I email to get this changed?

If I were you I would email your regional counselor (their email can be found on Caltech’s website). Mine has been helpful and kind. I am sure it won’t end up being a big deal, but you should probably at least follow through. If you don’t send them anything it may look like you’re being lazy.

Anyways, I’m submitting my application tomorrow morning. Good luck to the both of us.

@NWskier - isn’t today the last day to submit? Also, did you guys just copy the description from your common app? I’m afraid that might look a little lazy.

@ivanov2014

Yeah I submitted my app today. It was early this morning that I wrote that message. As far as the activities for two of them I submitted different descriptions. But I don’t think it will make a particularly large difference either way.
