@topaz1116 Same. Instead of doing my homework yesterday, I just sat hunched over my laptop, waiting to somehow defy the unremitting loading pages of doom. (And I did, just three hours later.)
I actually did my cluster essays really, really quickly (started + finished them in about two hours on Monday), yet I think they’re pretty good. Except now I’m doubting myself.
I had to do the same on Monday–I stayed up two hours later than I wanted to (and I was really, really tired) trying to submit the stupid application.
Is anyone else’s “application fee paid” thing not working? We paid our fee online, yet it’s not showing up…
@topaz1116 Well, at least you got it over your shoulder! Don’t worry about it, you most likely did a very good job.
It says 24th on https://cosmos-ucop.ucdavis.edu/main/application on the left hand column
yeah they extended deadline which is pretty good; now i can wait to postmark my transcripts as i wasn’t able to send them today because application not finished yet…need to get confirmation page!
Can we just print out our confirmation letter and send it back in on mail with the application fee?
And also, is it fine if the transcript and those 2 things are mailed separately?
I’m new to the thread. Question, does Key Club and Red Cross count as academic extracurriculars?
do*
that bothered me…
@sennovember Yeah, I think so! I’m in Key Club, and I put it down.
Welcome to CC, by the way!
wait, I selected my clusters and submitted my application. Why does it say cluster “not set”? It does say UC San Diego, though.
It will get set when you get accepted.
lol, IF I get accepted
I want to write the 50-word optional essay, but I don’t know what to write about. Any suggestions?
@The5458Captain Thanks. My list of extracurriculars is pathetically small.
@sennovember No problem and best of luck to you!
Hello! Anyone care to provide some information on how competitive UC Irvine’s Biomedical/Clinical Sciences cluster is? This is my first time applying for COSMOS because my previous summers I have either been taking a full-on courseload at an outside institution/community college or interning at universities around the nation. (Primarily biomedical-related research).
I have extremely strong extracurriculars and GPA, and my teacher recommendations should also be very good.
Anyone else applying for UCI’s Biomed cluster?
@EmoolyCow I personally think my ECs are pretty strong, yet I was too scared to apply because I heard all the bio ones are extremely competitive. From what I’ve heard, it’s really hard to get in.
Wait is it bad that one of my teachers still hasn’t started the letter of rec, and that my transcript, application fee and confirmation page all haven’t been received yet?
@Cornbread1999 Application fee is bad if you submitted online. Everything that’s been mailed will probably take a while. Your teacher should probably start your letter of rec; it has to be done by Tuesday. It was supposed to be done by today.
yeah, I sent by mail. I emailed my teacher to remind her about this.
