@The5458Captain sorry for my mistake. But congratulations!
On another note, I am ecstatic that our scioly team did well at State! It was worth it to see our hard work pay off.
I actually got into my first-choice summer program (earth sciences internship at Stanford), so I won’t be attending COSMOS even if I do get in. I hope you all have a great time, though! I’m sure you’ll make it.
@topaz1116 congratulations!
Hello
I understand that COSMOS results are to be released within a week, but I wanted to see if you guys could comment on my stats: (I am applying to: UC Davis: Biochemistry && Quantum ----)
High School Freshman: 4.0 GPA throughout both jr high and high (i sent a transcript with all grades through my school district)
Courses: Honors: Alg II/Trig (I skipped a level), English, Biology
Extracurriculars/Awards:
Science: First place regionals (Sandia) Science Bowl, fifth place nationals. [This was last year jr high]
-f=ma exam participant (results didn’t get released yet at time of registration)
-Coached science bowl at local elementary school
Piano: CM level 10, Junior Bach Festival: 2014, USOMC: 2009, 2010, 2011
Math: AMC 8 Honor Roll (19)
Informatics: Knowledge of: C, Python, Java, JS, Labview, HTML, and CSS. etc. (some lesser competitions)
those are my highlights; i did have other lesser stuff… However, I do regret writing on the additional information section that I used my physics and chemistry knowledge to aid the 10 years of age for my fish. Now that I look back upon it, I feel very stupid to have written that but I couldn’t think under the pressure at that late hour.
I’d appreciate to hear some stat ratings…
Danke
@troudeverdure I don’t want to make any promises, but your stats are very good, considering you’re only a freshman. I hope you get in!
Accepted to UCI Cluster 7: Big Bang and the Subatomic World (First Choice). Found out today (4/15) via email.
@wertoy Congratulations! I wonder why you were notified two days before the acceptance status day.
Congratulations! Running off to check my email…
Is there anyone else who received an acceptance letter? Do you think they’ll send more acceptance (not rejection) letters out on the 17th?
I applied to UCI for cluster 3 and 4. Please let me know if anyone received the letters.
@wertoy CONGRATS!
Whoa - @wertoy Firstly, congrats!! I haven’t received anything from COSMOS via email…(applied for UCD).
Checked, and no email
@wertoy, is that real? Why is only one person gets email? Say something please !!
Every year one kid pranks that he got into Cosmos few days before the deadline.
@topaz1116 you already got into the stanford earth science program? I thought that comes out in may?
@girlsworld I figured…I mean it’s two days before the supposed date (lol)
@sloppychair I got into the History of Life program, so that may have made a difference. They said they would come out by May 1, though. I received my acceptance letter on April 7…
@Wertoy’s claim of COSMOS acceptance isn’t a prank. My son (9th grader) also received the COSMOS UCI acceptance email today (April 15) at around 4 p.m…
Good luck everyone!
