Cluster Essay: 9; wrote about the different houses I’ve lived in and their architectural beauty, and my school which is known for its interesting architecture. Also talked about my passion about architecture.
Teacher Rec #1: I don’t know, but she is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had and she really supports me and likes me.
Teacher Rec #2: I don’t know, but she is also a very good teacher and I did exceptionally well in her class. She is also extremely nice and supportive
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I had very good and well written essays, thanks to my brother and my freshman and sophomore English teachers. I also did very well in my science/mathematics courses. Other than that, I honestly thought I would not get accepted, but with that said I am very excited for the summer and can’t wait to meet everyone who is attending!!
I have a question though, has anyone done the roommate survey for UCSD?
Has anyone that has been accepted decided whether or not they’re going?
I’m not going (somewhat ironic, since I’m the one who started this thread and since I really wanted to go for quite a while; but I got an opportunity elsewhere that’s too good to pass up).
I’m waiting for someone to drop so I can go!
Ucsd: cluster 4: earthquake engineering! If you are not going, let me go please!
I’m not going - UCD cluster 8
To everyone wondering about COSMOS waitlist: my mom emailed the UCI program director a couple days ago and found out that depending on the cluster, there are an average of 5-10 people on the waitlist. These people are prioritized by primarily GRADE LEVEL, as upperclassmen have less opportunities to try and apply again. If you are a sophomore or a freshman waitlisted in a very competitive cluster, then the chances are not in your favor.
Also, I am waitlisted for UCI Cluster 4, is anyone not going?
I believe that my cluster is not that competitive which is also a main reason why I got waitlisted for it instead of rejected
Join the Facebook group for UCSD COSMOS 2015!!! You can find it by searching UCSD COSMOS 2015 and changing the search settings to groups. There’s two so just join both because one is the official closed group and the other one is an unofficial public group, but someone I know made it and wants others to join!
UCD Cluster 9 (Math Modeling of Biological Systems) - not going. Yay for anyone on the waitlist for that cluster!
I’m not going, UCSC Cluster 7 (Astronomy, Polar Science, and Climate Change) Hopefully that’ll bring someone here off the waitlist
Glad to hear so many people getting my hopes high to get accepted! Thanks
@topaz1116 May I ask what internship you are going to at Stanford? What is the name of program? Is it paid? Thanks!
@okaysq I will be attending the Stanford Earth Sciences Internship; it is unpaid (although if you are low income/first gen you can get paid a little).

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Perhaps it’s because of last year’s participation in CTY summer program in Cryptology, which is about number theory.
if anyone on the waitlist gets an “acceptance email” can you please post that notification on this thread?
I don’t think they will send it until May 7
@cincandyful mine said that everyone had to confirm whether or not theyre going (uci starts a lot earlier than the others so thats why), and it said may 4th for me
