I got rejected two years in a row
GO MEEEEE.
So this is what it is gonna feel like when I get rejected from a college
Yeah I got rejected two years in a row also.
I really felt I had a chance this year because I’m in AP Calc and AP Physics as a sophomore, and I founded an astronomy club at my school but I guess not.
Well at least you’ll have one more shot at it next year. I’m a junior right now so I’m done.
@acastro I am SOOO a kpop fan omg lol can’t wait to meet you haha
I was rejected from UCD as well. Im out of state so that doesnt help because they only take 20 kids for the whole program and there are 9 clusters. Super bummed though, would have loved to spend time at the #1 vet school in the world.
I was waitlisted for UCSD C1 and C4. What is the % of people who get off the waitlist?
Who all got into the UCD Biomed Cluster? Im curious as to what your grades are and what you are involved in.
Also, if you got in, are you a California resident or not? Im curious to see if many out of state people got in…
I got accepted into ucsc video game design program but I’m not sure if I’m gonna go. CA resident btw
I got into uci cluster 3! I’m a CA resident as well
@nanoxion im in uci cluster 3 too!
@nanoxion i’m a ca resident too
Accepted to UCSC Cluster 1!! just got my email
Oh my goodness I got in!! I’m super surprised I guess I’ll just leave my stats here for anyone who’s interested.
Decision: Accepted
Campus: UCSC
Cluster: 1 - Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics
GPA (UW): 4.0
GPA (W): 4.2 (at time of application)
Grade Level: 10
Honors/AP: 4 APs my sophomore year, and 3 total from freshman and sophomore year. My course load was very rigorous and I was advanced in math and science
Extracurriculars: Math Club, CyberPatriots, Science Club
General Essay: 7 (it wasn’t my best :/)
Cluster Essay: 9.5 (I was really proud of this one - my passion for math really shined through)
Teacher Rec #1: 9 (my Chem teacher really likes me)
Teacher Rec #2: 7 (my math teacher likes me, but I’m not sure how his letter of rec would be)
Why do you think you were accepted: Grades, cluster essay, and possibly recs.
I’m a CA resident as well! Accepted to UCSD Cluster 4. I believe it honestly came down to your essays, letter of recs, and grades. I had Straight A’s in all my math and science courses and I’m a junior. I spent the whole window period of the application working on my essays, which is a month! Congrats to everyone who got accepted! Isn’t there a facebook group usually for accepted people?
Oh yeah I’ll post my stats too: also @Mathophile26 see you in July!
Decision: Accepted
Campus: UCSC
Cluster: 1 - Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics (1st choice)
GPA (UW): 4.0
GPA (W): my school doesn’t calculate but I think 4.2
Grade Level: 10
Honors/AP: all honors/AP math and science classes, but not extremely rigorous
Extracurriculars: Math Club, Viola in Orchestra
General Essay: 9.5-10 (pretty proud of this, I used a personal anecdote and it was passionate )
Cluster Essay: 7 (pretty generic)
Teacher Rec #1: 8 (I don’t know my math teacher that well but she likes me)
Teacher Rec #2: 8 (same with my physics teacher)
Why do you think you were accepted: Grades and general essay. I was super surprised since I don’t have many STEM extracurriculars and my cluster essays weren’t outstanding.
First year applying, got waitlisted at UC Santa Cruz
Yay I’ll see you too @orchdork19! I’m really hoping my parents let me go.
Can anyone access the accepted student survey? Mine says I need permission…
I can’t access it either
