My DD got accepted to UCSC Cluster 6. She’s a freshman. She probably will go to a different program and free up the spot for someone else.
@beaverx3 out of curiosity, which program will she be going to?
How do people know the acceptance rates? are they posted online?
Does the Admitted Student surveys work for anybody who is going to Davis?
The Admitted Student surveys haven’t been working for me, even though I have the adobe pdf reader.
Also, what are the acceptance rates? I’d like to know just how smart I really am lol
Didn’t get in, 4.8 weighted GPA too=(
I’m bad at writing though, maybe that’s why
Accepted UCD Cluster 4! Anybody else here also cluster 4?
@plasticvalley i got accepted into the uci cluster 4 as well!
UCD Cluster 9 anyone?
Hey for UCI people is the google form still not working or is it just me?
@NicknameNumber I had to fill out the acceptance form before having access to the google survey
@nitanu32 She will be going to SIP
@justinliu1107 did that but it’s still not letting me in
Is anyone able to access the UCD participant forms?
@nitanu32 I still can’t.
for those going to uci, they sent out an email with a link to the new roommate survey, so if you didn’t get it maybe check your spam?
it sends you to survey monkey…
@LeoGuo1999 @frog2018 I also got into Cluster 1 at UCD!
Decision: Accepted
Campus: UCD
Cluster: 2-Physics & Engineering: From the scientific method to technological applications
GPA(UW): 3.87
GPA(W): 4.11
Grade: 11
Honors/AP: AP Bio, AP Environmental Science, AP Calculus BC, AP Physics 1, AP Computer Science, AP US History, AP English Language
Extracurriculars: I am the design lead for a robotics team that earned second place at the world championships last year, and I was the mentor of a World Robot Olympiad (WRO) Elementary School team that made it to the national level in that year. I’ve also volunteered at a local summer camp where I spent worked six hours a day, five days a week for six weeks teaching kids robotics. I’m part of the science club at our school, and I work as a tutor for the district.
Cluster Essay: 8. Felt pretty generic to me. I just talked about my interest in STEM and vision for the future.
The other essay: 9-9.5. I procrastinated on this one. I wrote it on the due date for the application, but I think it turned out better than my other essay. I also got it reviewed by a couple of my peers and they thought it was good. I just emphasized my passion for learning and helping the community, and talked about my experience in robotics and teaching.
Teacher Rec #1: 9.5-10/10. Math teacher I’ve known for almost 2 years. He really likes me, and he even skipped a meeting to work on it, so I’m assuming it was pretty good.
Teacher Rec #2: 8-8.5/10. Don’t know how good this one was since it was from my CS teacher who I’ve only known for a semester, but I think she likes me and I gave her an elaborate brag sheet so it was probably at least decent
Why do you think you were accepted: My grades aren’t super impressive compared to most other accepted students, so it was probably ECs, the stellar letter of rec from my math teacher, and maybe essays. Also, idk how competitive my cluster so it could just be that I got in because this cluster was easy to get into
