Hi everyone,
Hope your holidays went well!
I was applying to COSMOS for 2019, and I was looking for some advice on which clusters to apply for. Right now, I’ve really narrowed it down to two options:
- UC Davis - Cluster 2 (Physics & Engineering: From the scientific method to technological applications) for 1st choice, Cluster 5 (Computers in Biophysics & Robotics) for 2nd choice
- UCSD - Cluster 2 (Engineering Design and Control of Kinetic Sculptures) for 1st choice, Cluster 11 (Introduction to Autonomous Vehicles) for 2nd choice
If there’s anyone here who has taken one of these courses, do you have an input on how they went? Or for anyone else who has attended other COSMOS clusters, I’m looking for something mechanical and aerospace engineering related, those were just ones that really stood out to me as interesting.
Finally, depending on which clusters I choose, what are my chances of getting in? I am a sophomore, 4.0 GPA, taking AP Computer Science and Pre-Calc Honors, significant STEM-related extra-curriculars.
Thank you for your help!
