Cosnidering Delaware, few questions please...

I'm hoping to transfer to Del for chemical enineering but I wanted to know more about the honors program, and how can I apply for it, and whether it's a big difference from a regular admission... thanks

Assuming that it hasn't changed in the one year since I applied, there is just a supplemental part of the application for the honors program and an additional essay you have to write. You can be admitted to the school even if you do not get into the honors program.

yea, you're right.. i just checked, anyways is the program supposed to be way better than the regular one (for ChemE) or are they almsot the same? (i'm an int'l so i dunno much)

Don't know the answer to that, but UDel's ChemE program is reknowned and students are snapped up by companies in the N/E corridor.

The honors program is designed so that a student can participate as much they wish. Some students only receive a General Honors Award after the first two years, while others graduate with a honors degree.

As an honors student, you would take honors classes which are designed to be more enriched and challenging. A major benefit of the honors program is the smaller class. For example, Freshman Psychology is usually a 400 person class, while my honors section only had 25 students.

For specific information about the honors program.. check out the honors website: http://honors.udel.edu/index.html

The honors program isn't like a different program with separate classes. With chemE classes, you likely will be in the same class as the "regular" students. You may have additional teaching time(in the form of a study group or session) and more indepth projects/tests/homework. The separate honors classes are mostly in the big core classes like intro chemistry, big elective courses(like intro histories, economics, etc), etc and are very beneficial.
