I really want to go to UCLA, but I'm OOS, and I've heard that OOS students can get better deals elsewhere, because it's extremely hard to get in OOS and the financial aid isn't as great as for in-state students. Is this true? Is it worth going to UCLA, any OOSers who can give advice?

Wait for mme-lin for a response.

What state are you from, maybe that'll give us an idea of the quality of schools in the area.

I got accepted and I don't live in California! Why is it harder for people outside of Calofirnia?

Im from MA. It's harder outside of CA bc its a public school, which means they mostly cater to Californians, who also have to pay less. Actually, I'm not sure if UCLA is that much harder, but I know that most public CA are harder for OOS, like going for an ivy.
