Cost of Attendance - Do we have to pay more than tuition?

It says cost of attendance if living with parents is $17,415.00, which includes books/supplies, transportation costs, personal expenses etc. Do we have to pay all of that or is that just an estimate of what a student may spend? What is the minimum amount a student must pay in order to attend UCSD? Is it just tuition or are there other mandatory expenses?

oh yeah i wanted to know about this one too. also do you pay all at the same time or do you break it down in payments?

adding on...i'd also like to know about the PLUS program..i was told not to do this..so where would i get the money from?

Refresh: it's an estimate. All that you would be REQUIRED to pay is the tuition, although additional costs incur from buying books, bussing to work or gas for your car, etc.

Aditami: you can pay all at the same time, break it up monthly or quarterly.

confused: are you talking about tritonplus? i find it useful for laundry in dorms since i just swipe instead of counting quarters. you can transfer money from your bank acct or get mommy and daddy to drop some money in it. it works like a debit card.

i think confused is talking about the PLUS loans. the ones that are unsubsadized.

does tritonplus have service/transaction fees?

thanks ucsdhopeful!

yea i'm talking about the unsubsidized loans
