Does anyone know the approximate cost of books for CE for all four years?
A couple thousand. But some classes they don’t even use the textbook.
Thank you.
@gio123, My son just finished his freshman year in Engineering. Many students wait until the first day of classes to assess book needs – some profs don’t require them and others just have you purchase online access. My son wised up to this second semester and we spent a lot less. I put his ENGR 111/112 textbook on Amazon last week and it sold in a 1/2 hour. Put the Physics book for sale there too – he’ll be glad to see that one go.
You can also rent the books from Amazon. One of my son’s engineering textbooks was $282 to buy and $60 to rent for the semester. KEEP THE BOXES and shipping material. When the semester is over you just print the shipping labels off of Amazon, drop them in boxes and take them to a UPS store.
Thank you lee6666 and TexasAtHome.
It definitely varies, some semesters I spend only $200, some I spend $800. Definitely rent when you can or buy from students who took the course before you.
Thank you. Great idea about buying from students who took the course before.
