Cost of living in Ann Arbor?

Hi all,

University of Michigan is one of my top choices right now, but of course, money is playing a big part in my decision...
Right now, the cost of tuition at U of M is cheaper than the other school I'm looking at right now (USC), which is a big plus, but I'm hoping to hear from some current students at U of M about what the cost of living in Ann Arbor is like.
Also, what is the job market/economy like in Ann Arbor (or just Michigan in general)? Could students easily find a minimum wage job in town?

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Minimum wage, yes, you’ll find one. Much higher than minimum wage for unskilled labor, not really.

Cost of living in Ann Arbor is higher than most of the surrounding area, and is pretty expensive compared to a typical Midwestern city. It’s still much cheaper than California though.
