Hi guys, I am considering going to Canada for my undergraduate studies. I need some information for the cost of living in Canada.

It will be nice if you guys can tell me the amount required for all expenses ( including rent, food, expenses etc. EXCLUDE tuition fees). Please list them in Canadian dollars. Thanks !!

I need the estimated cost of living for the following cities:

Toronto (UoT)
Kingston (Queens)
Montreal (McGill)
Edmonton (Alberta)
Hamilton (McMaster)
Vancouver (UBC)

Also, which canadian universities are well known for their economics programs?

I'd say UBC is well known for its economics program. I was there for a year but just transferred to McGill.

In Montreal, rent can vary from $300-1,000 depending on where you live, whether you have a roommate, the size of your apartment, etc. I would say the average is $600 though. As for food, I think $250 a month is adequate if you spend wisely and cook yourself. A monthly bus pass comes to around $38 and gives access to both bus and metro. You'll also need a nice warm winter coat, which can be anywhere from $300-500, I'd say.

How much to budget for a month in Montreal?

Nobody has any answers to my questions in the first thread?

I would say a budget of $1,000 per month in Montreal is sufficient for rent and food if you know where to look. Maybe an extra $200 or so for evenings and weekends though.
