I was wondering if anyone with experience in the field might have some insight. My youngest son is finishing up his freshman year at Stanford and is wondering which path might offer better job prospects. He is considering either getting a dual degree in Economics and MS&E with a concentration in Finance or trying to get a Master Degree through the coterm program in the MS&E department. The second option would allow him to have two concentrations in MS&E. Any thoughts by those in the field or with similar experience.

Thanks for the help.

Note that you don’t need to coterm in your major. This especially applies to MS&E since the MS degree courses do not have a lot of prerequisites. For example, I did a bachelors in EE, while doing a coterm in MS&E (along with a 2nd coterm in EE). I expect one could also easily do a coterm in MS&E with a bachelors in economics, which would most likely have better job prospects that two bachelors degrees in those fields. I doubt the concentration chosen or number of concentrations has a big impact, aside from being better able to answer interview questions in related fields.
