Hi there. I am a senior going to high school in California. Here are some preliminary stats about me, please let me know what you think my chances are for regular admission to Brown.

GPA (weighted): 3.75
SAT (superscore): 2400
SAT II Algebra II: 780
SAT II Biology (M): 750

My school does not rank or give academic honors, but my course load is described as very rigorous (as opposed to MOST rigorous). I also have a VERY pronounced upward trend. Freshmen year I was getting A-'s all the way to B-'s, but by junior year I had all A’s with one A-. My first semester senior grades will be straight A’s. In addition, my school is fairly known for being a VERY challenging place…I have been told that many knowledgable admissions officers value a B at my school as much as an A at another school. I am not trying to be pretentious or assume anything…that is just what I have heard. Take it with a grain of salt.

Ethnicity: White, Jewish
Gender: male

Extracurriculars:

Two summers as an intern in a research lab doing cutting edge cancer research.

Music in general (I play piano, bass, guitar, trumpet).

I have played tennis all four years of high school, and was voted MVP last year.

Selected for a Peer Mentor position at my school (very selective leadership role)

Also, I have held paid summer jobs.

Brown is my first choice, however I was not in a position to ED because I hadn’t seen the school. My college search got started very late because of difficult medical circumstances with my family. I don’t think I want to go into much detail beyond the fact that my parents were both seriously hurt in a car crash, with my mother having been paralyzed. My application accurately reflects my situation and states that Brown is my top choice despite my lack of ED.

I truly appreciate anyone in a position to answer.
