Could an artsy, jewish, socially conscious liberal with views about gender issues fit in at SCU?

D got accepted to SCU. The values of the school align with hers but she would love to get feedback from/about the students who attend, would she be happy there?

Son was accepted, too, and hopes to go next fall. He will attend the orientation day to get a better feel of the university. We are hoping the student body will be diverse and dynamic. Look forward to hearing answers to your question if any Santa Clara students are in this list.

My daughter sounds quite similar to yours. Our entire search was based on the qualities you mention in your post. We visited both schools, and thirty others across the country. SCU seemed far too conservative, Seattle University (also a Jesuit school) would be a much better fit and is one of my daughter’s top choices.

Any others?

My daughter also fits your description. I just asked her if this was her post! Our tour guide when we visited SCU was Jewish, and she loved SCU and felt that she fit in. My daughter is deciding between Santa Clara and Scripps. I hope you get some responses.

“VIews about gender issues” could mean anything. But as far as artsy, socially conscious liberal, absolutely no issues about fitting in. For instance, look at what they are doing around sustainability and the many community oriented projects that they are a part of.
