What makes me different:

At this point, since I have not mentioned my 3 Nobel Prizes and Concertmaster status of the London Symphony, you probably are thinking that my stats are okay, but not Harvard Material.

I'm obsessed with politics. I will be the next Karl Rove (Democratic please!). Actually, I probably won't be because I'm so clearly illustrating my ambitions on a public forum. Meh.

I read all sorts of political books. Latest read: Post-American world by Fareed Zakaria. I'm really well-read. I speak and write well. Maybe? Maybe?

Thanks! =)

Sat subject tests? most colleges require those on your list (if not all) and many recommend math2. You’re obviously very qualified .. a 35 and high GPA .. you’re just going to have to stand out and write great essays.

I’m taking Literature, Math 2, and Biology October and November (just in case something happens). On practices I’ve been getting 750+ on all of them. =)

what a ■■■■■…9 APs as of junior year? not to mention the total silly stuff at the end of the post..

You pretty much have max chances anywhere.

@ Tzar09: Um…you might want to read the post again. OP’s post is believable, especially given the time she’s been on CC and the number of her posts. Also, since three APs are self-studied, then that just leaves six. Which can be easily explained as two sophomore year, four junior year. I do think it’s a bit weird to only be taking the SAT IIs now, but that’s just me.

wow ur stats are unbelieveable
if harvard and columbia dont accept you theyre crazy, even though they’re reaches for pretty much everyone

hey im only a rising sophomore
do u think u can give me a few tips?
thanks :)

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/555417-chance-me-please.html</a></p>

golfer111 u serious
this guy is fake

No, I’m not a ■■■■■. I took Music Theory freshman year, Statistics and European History Sophomore year, and the rest junior year.

I didn’t take the SAT II’s because I burned out slightly at the end of Junior year after all of the AP exams. So I’ve had the summer to recoup.

I’m sorry for being silly. I’ll try to be more panicked and antisocial? XD

Hopefully your dreams won’t be crush after your first Marxism 101 class.

I try to assume the best about the people on this forum, but… christian1206 is right.

“I’m really well-read. I speak and write well.”

Go back under your little bridge, please…

..wow…and I thought I was the cynical one.
Here’s a link to a chance thread she posted a long time ago (almost a year exactly):
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/rice-university/385974-rice-3-a.html</a></p>

■■■■■■ generally have less than 50 posts, and have joined in the last month. They also have stats even more unbelievable (SAT 2400, ACT 36, GPA 4.0UW and 5.0 W, rank 1 our of 3000, double legacy, parents have donated more than a million dollars, can I get into NYU?!! Oh, and I’ve taken every single AP and SAT II, and got perfect scores on all of them, except one (to show that I’m human) and I am an AB student.)

I believe in the OP and I think that she’s a clear admit at a lot of those schools, and a very strong candidate for the rest. Don’t sweat it.

She seems legit guys. The noble prize thing was a joke, “I speak and write well” doesn’t seem to carry any less pretense than the rest of this site ;)

Sorry for the repetition PBailey.

Strong applicant. But your ECs just aren’t that impressive.

Thanks PBailey for the vote of confidence.

Even though my stats are pretty good, I just wanted to see if anyone had any advice. Techy233, ECs ARE my weak point. Almost all of my activities don’t go beyond the state/local level.

I’m not an Intel/Siemens/Big National Competition winner unless I win the Samsung National Scholarship. I thought that’s what you needed to get into Harvard or Stanford. Something amazing. Unless, of course, you’re a Mongolian refugee or the like.

You’re not black, and as a consequence cannot be the next Barack Obama.

^ Haha word. and you can’t be his VP either :)

XD and my real question has been answered!

shes legit

-Harvard University - reach
-Columbia University - reach
-Stanford University - reach
-Rice University - low reach/high match
-Brown University - low reach/high match
-Duke University - low reach/high match
-Baylor University - idk?
-Texas Christian University - safety

find some other schools other than the Ivies and other hard schools to get in. u dont want to be rejected by all of them and end up going to TCU. it may happen so have some schools that has what u like. since u like politics, try UCB, even though ur out of state u have a high chance of getting in with those stats.

I’d be complimented if my stats were so amazing that everyone thought I was a ■■■■■ ;)

Charmelody, you do not need your ECs to be something short of amazing for a Harvard acceptance. It’s too late to start showing passion for any particular EC at a greater level of recognition. Perhaps write an essay explaining an EC and why it was important to you. Harvard values sincerity. You’ve passed the numbers test a long time ago.

Very good academics, very strong ECs, though nothing (officer position/achievment) on the state or national level but that’s still ok. Newspaper Chief, YDA Pres., and Gold Award are good enough to get you the max. score prob. on the EC’s evaluation by the high level colleges.

I don’t see why people think 9 APs by junior year is fake. Though I dont have that (I have 7), I know bunchs of people who have 15 AP’s by the end of junior year. My schools soon-to-be val. currently has 13 APs, likely increasing to 20 by end of senior year.
