Could I get in?

Im a Junior at a very good public high school. Bard is absolutely my first choice hands down, and my dad went there and made a good mark. Im interested in math and physics. I have over 500 hours of community service and have lived on an indian reservation for a month. as well as being a camp conselor and other such things

on my chemistry sat 1 I got a 710, haven’t taken sat II or acts yet but, judging from the practice I’ve done and my psat scores (my math section was perfect) I expect to get in the 2000-2200 range

I admit my gpa is pretty low 7.3, but thats only sophomore year and I suspect it to be going up . Im also submitting an art portfolio to show some of the things I have done. Im a classically trained pianist and have performed often and I also am an avid guitar player, and my senior year will be involved in an intership about guitar mechanics. I also have played 2 years of vasity field hockey, starting everygame Im not sure I am going to play senior year but we’ll see. I also went to the nation indoor field hockey tournament, as well as the national tournament at disney, but my interested in sports has pretty much faded.

my grades in math and sciences are excellent, and pretty much all A’s. I am dislexic and my grades in french and english have always suffered because of that which perhaps explains the gpa.

the AP’s and honors classes Ive taken/will take are AP bio, AP BC calculous, AP physics, AP chemistry, Honors Chemistry, honors english for 3 years, honors world history honors math every year, and I have also been an art major every and a photo major one year

again bard is my absolute top choice although I know my gpa is likely to hurt my chances

Can you clarify your gpa? I don’t understand how you can have a 7.3 ? Do you mean 3.7? Because if that’s the case you seem like you could get in. I’m not a student but I am looking at Bard and was told by a student (who got in with a 3.4 gpa and barely any APs) that they really want students who express a fervent desire to attend.

I also think they look for a specific type of person (i.e. someone who is interested in the arts, music, etc.) and it seems like you fit the mold.

Im not sure what my gpa is on a 4.0 scale my school doesn’t do that, I have a 7.3 on a 9.0 scale, naviance or whatever its called that compares people from my school who have applied in the past said the average gpa of accepted students from my high school was 7.8, but Im sure I can get it higher, and hopefully some of my other parts of my profile would help

ukraine, if possible, try to sign up to do the IDP (immediate decision plan). The info about what this is is on the Bard website. It seems as though they give an edge to those who do this. You would also have the opportunity to tell an admissions officer why Bard is your first choice and make a case for why you should be accepted.
Good Luck!
