the thing that I believe will bring me down is that I had to repeat 9th grade and also because in homeschool you can move forward I will be about 16 when I finish high school

Major: neuroscience and behavior or engineering not totally sure yet
Minor:middle eastern, south asian and african studies

My high school grades and achievements

  1. freshmen year really horrible I’m embarrassed to even put it on here i had a 1.3 gpa i had earned only 4 credits and the school i go to currently requires 5 for a sophomore first they told me you just need to pass 2 classes and you will be considered a 10th grader but then they said because of standardize testing i would have to stay in 9th grade and if i earn more than 11 credits I would be a junior next year (sorry if this is confusing you can ask questions about this if you don’t get it) ( I don’t know if they would want an excuse but it's mostly my fault I did not know what I wanted and had no motivation I didn’t work hard enough and i was also thrown in a horrible school it was not my choice mainly my dads choice and i had to suffer because of my sister and brothers mistakes in high school my dad believed that i would do the same things)

How about Cornell online?

Can you clarify which years you homeschooled and which years you were in a regular school?

I will look more into this thank you for reading and replying!

I have been in homeschool freshmen sophomore and junior so like a year and a half because you could move ahead in your studies I went to regular school only in middle school and elementary

Did your parents give you all “As”

Well for homeschool students, selective colleges want some objective measure of the students achievement and abiiity. AP test scores, SAT subject tests, and ACT or SAT become very important. Some schools want writing samples too. Take a look here https://undergrad.admissions.columbia.edu/apply/first-year/home-schooled and http://homeschoolsuccess.com/highly-selective-college-admissions-for-homeschoolers/

BTW, who gave you the grades if it was homeschool? Who are the clubs with?

One option might be to take some community college courses that show how you do in a school setting.

There’s no rush to go to college. Being young can sometimes be a negative for college admissions.

Hopefully some homeschoolers or others in the know will chime in soon.

no my parents did not i earned it every lesson from my classes theres an assessment and sometimes portfolios you’re graded on it my parents aren’t my teachers

@milkweed my grades are determined when i take my assessments at the end of every lesson its a program teachers don’t go in there unless its a portfolio project or written response my teachers go in an do it i know my grades look a bit too good but you can get points back its very simple program you go in read everything they have for you and take the assessment the clubs are with the school theres these live recordings you can go talk to the people apart of your club and stuff the school provides the clubs and thank you so much for the links and feedback

okay if you read the bottom you can see that I apologized for that and didn’t know where to put it

@gothqrl, Please use punctuation.

What grade are you currently in? Are you homeschooled or in public school? The classes you have to take depend on what state you live in.

I’ve been homeschooling a long time and I’ve never heard of a state that allows running through 3 years of high school in a year and a half. Many have minimum hour requirements as well as a list of mandatory subjects. What state are you in?

11th homeschooled i live in michighan the minimum hours we are supposed to do is 30 hours I did my first year in 2014 sep to june 2015 and the rest through 2015 summer till now

Are those legit grades? Maybe go to a community college and see if you can handle the work first
