Am I good enough for Cornell?

Hello. I am 16, and will be a junior in Highschool this next year. I have been "homeschooled" all my life, however for my highschool I started taking classes at a private school as well as at my Community College...By time I graduate highschool I should have atleast 62 college credit hours with 22 hours of college level math through calculus 3 (highest level math availible), 8 hours of college level physics, 8 hours of college level chemistry, 8 hours of college level biology, 6 hours of college level english, 6 hours of college level history. I should be able to keep a 4.0 in all my college classes as well as my other classes. I think I present a nice "academic" package.

I took the SAT in june and got a math 680, crit reading 590, and writing 570. I can bring my math up to a 750 easily, and crit reading and writing atleast up to 650's. (Is that a competitive score??). I'm thinking of what SAT II tests to take...I'm for sure going to take the SAT Math II test, Chemistry, and possibly french...I have the ability to get an 800 on the SAT math II test, and atleast a 700 on the chemistry.

I also have a few good extra curricular activities such as follows: I played JV and Varsity sports for all 4 years of high school, I have my blackbelt in Tai Kwon Do, I solely organized a food drive that brought in over 700 lbs of food for the homeless, volunteered as a page at the republican national convention, 100+ hours of community service, operated the audio/visual department at my church since 5th grade, I was a member of a drama group for my freshmen year of highschool, I am getting into a couple different honor socieities this next year, am currently enrolled at the honor's program at my CC...

What do you guys think?!?!? Would I present a nice package for an Ivy? What should I focuse on during these next two years of highschool? THANKS!!!

Are you good enough? Of course you are that's a silly question to ask.

Now as to whether your stats are good enough to admission which is I'm guessing what you were asking, if you get your sat scores up, yes you have a great shot.

Although with that many college credits are you still allowed to apply as a freshmen?

Thanks.

Ok, i'll start focusing on those SAT scores.

I havn't really thought about that, hmmmm...good question. I don't know why I wouldn't be able to, but i'll have to check that out. Thanks

Yes, he will be able to apply as a freshman, but he will lose every one of those classes that went toward graduating highschool. Only way to transfer any of them is if they did not fill any graduation requirements which means you will need more than the necessary amount of HS credits for graduation if you want any of those college classes to transfer.

For example, I took 21 credit hours of college coursework my senior year, but graduated HS with 26 credits while only needing 24. I will be able to transfer a composition class, history, and one other (the composition counted as 1 full HS credit) because I had 5 english credits, and only needed 4 for graduation. I will be applying as a transfer student though, but as far as transferring college coursework taken during HS, it must meet the three requirements (the other 2 are...1.)taken on a college campus, and 2.) taken in a class with other college students).

So, if any of your college coursework is eligible for transfer, you must get a letter from your counselor stating that it was not needed to meet your graduation requirements along with the other criterion. The only way you would be ineligible to apply as a freshman is if you take more college classes post HS.
